[Note Guidelines] Photographer's Note
This is a REPOST of the original photo. Following Jacks critique I have reduced the red tones and following Rew's critique I have added a gradient to reduce the glare of the sky. Rew kindly sent me a tutorial on adding gradients ..... Thanks Jack and REW

-------------------------------------------------------

I travel many back country roads in the course of my work and have noted numerous derelict vehicles and buildings. I noticed this in a paddock near Silverdale some time ago and went back there on Saturday.

This is a very sad HA Vauxhall Viva, has seen better days.

HA Viva (1963-1966)

The Viva HA, announced in September 1963 and replaced in September 1966, was Vauxhall's first serious step into the compact car market after World War 2. It was also the first new small car produced by Vauxhall since 1936. It had a 1057 cc overhead valve engine. The 4 cylinder front mounted engine drove the rear wheels. It was comparable in size and mechanical specifications to the new Opel Kadett released a year earlier in continental Europe. Both the Viva and Kadett were sold alongside each other in many markets..

Wow, I like the effect you've given that sky - you have a subtle touch with that gradient that I wouldn't have thought of! Nice!

Still like the wreckage of the car, and IMO this shot works better, as the eye is less distracted by the sky.

Good job!
Rew

Hi Ralph,
the gradient in the sky looks good and there is more green in this shot
cheers
Jack
PS -I wouldn't mind a copy of the gradient tutorial, I have never been happy when I tried it
