I decided to go and watch the sunrise this morning as the skies were fairly clear and it wasn’t that cold outside. As usual, I was the only one around, armed with my camera of course. I took this from the same location as my 'Rise & Shine’ photo, and also my 'Seductive Sunrise’ photo. A few other shots of mine have also been taken from this spot.

I arrived at about 7:10am, but the sun didn’t finally break through the clouds until about 7:40am. Fortunately a thin layer of clouds diffused the sun enough so that it wasn’t severely overexposed.

The small bush in the photo is known as a mangrove. They grow to about the size of a small tree. They protect the coast from erosion, surge storms (such as hurricanes), and tsunamis. Their massive root system is efficient at breaking up wave energy. They grow in many parts of the world and are often found in estuaries and along shorelines.

Created with 3-shots using AEB, merged in PhotoMatix Pro and touched up in PhotoFiltre.

Hi Scott,

very attractive scenery and your techniques
made it look even more dramatic, color tones variation
is incredible and create this moody atmosphere, the sun's
and the clouds reflection and the slight ripples on the
water, and all the details including the vertical frame
look fabulous. one more thing, that thin cloud dividing
the sun into 2 is striking...

best regards and tfs Dear Scott

hi Scott,
dark silhouette of cloud, distant wood and fore trees make strong impression of black basement.
so even the orange sun light looks less energetic.
in my feeling, this picture is quite like hopeless evening scene, not vigor morning view...
but it is not bad, that feeling is main atmosphere of contemporary world really.
the effect seems very depressive to my eyes. and it is actual modernism.
thank you,
Akihisa

Hi Scott,

PLeasing photo and presentation. I like the richness of tones you have captured. YOur HDR work is great here. Good handling of light levels. Congratulations on this fine result. TFS.
