[Note Guidelines] Photographer's Note
If you don't recognize this bit of land, then you haven't been to Auckland and you haven't been looking at any of my photographs - because its in about half of them.
Its the distinctive shape of Rangitoto Island which is a dormant volcano off the coast of Auckland.

This was shot yesterday afternoon and the whole harbour had this heavy layer of fog which I have never seen before at that time of the day.

RAW ISO200 F11 @ 1/400sec + CPL
Adjusted levels
Added gradient

Yea I think I've seen this somewhere before
Great blue tones
like the mist

Riding home on the bus along Tamaki Drive yesterday I wished I had my camera - because I saw that fog sitting on the water and wow, what a photo op.
I think you've done a great job - deep saturation and understated levels, on my monitor Rangitoto almost seems in silhouette and the gradient of the sky above it is fantastic.
Like the framing too

Oh yes I do and your amazing capture makes me even miss it! I moved away from Auckland for 2 years now and let me tell you being there for 10 years prior and never got up there early enough to see this foggy/misty R'toto scene. So thank you for your beautiful picture and have a great day!

cheers,

Hi Jack,
It's an impressive view with nice blue tones and simple composition. the fog, mountain and the gradient of the sky make it the photo so strong.
Love it.

Hi Jack,
fantastic blue in blue! Nice portray of the sleeping volcano and that's the colour of the dream!
Great composition!

TFS, abhijit.

Wish I could have gotten out with the camera when this was happening.

You captured this well, love the blue gradients and almost silhouette.

The frame works well.
