A lone yachtsman leaves Milford Marina. This marina can only be used at high tide which must be a pain. I am sure some yachts must get stuck as they try to get in when the tide is going out.
It was still fairly dark when I took this, had to change to ISO800 F5.6 at 1/40sec and then play with the levels and selective dodging to brighten it up. |

Simply fantastic shot given the circumstances and you have done really well to enhance it to look this natural without excessive PP look. The composition is exquisite and the presentation is classic. Nice work!

Dilshan

Love all the layers you have created Jack which extends into the sky as well.
The sailor appears to be well wrapped up to combat the cold.
The frame complemints the layers.

Hi Jack
I've seen this view many times - this is where I grew up - had a great childhood here often playing at the beach.
I do like your composition and how we see the yacht over the rocky breakwater, with the headland in the BG (yes, and Castor Bays headland as well)
Very well done
Janice

Hi Jack, A very appealing photograph which indicates you timed it well to have the yacht passing by, which adds a lot to the interest being dynamic. The breakwater in the foreground is also a good feature. TFS. Murray.
Hi again Jack,
Another great shot, the composition is spot on. The lighting at that time of the day really makes it stand out, perfectly straight horizon too. I think it could be a tiny bit sharper, but this is a very cool shot for the most part.
TFS,
Scott.
