Arum / Calla Lilies
Zantedeschia aethiopica

Another Arum / Calla lily growing in my garden.

It comes from the wetlands of southern and eastern Africa and has naturalized extensively in New Zealand, where it is considered a pest!!!

It grows wild in my garden, and it appears growing in many places.

Fantastic capture Janice

Loved the contrast of white subject and dark b/g.
The details are great!very nicely composed, the leading lines are excellent!

Good use of narrow DOF to focus on the f/g

Kia ora Janice,
A superb capture of this wild white lily. The shallow DOF creates a special effect of perfect sharp front and a blurred rear of the calyx. The dark background enhances the beauty of this flower.
Great post my dear.
Hans

Good Morning Janice,

This is one of the most artistic shots that I ever remember you posting. The narrow dof is a classic for demonstrating the sharp f/g focus and blurred b/g. It makes the striped textures so prominent and eye-catching as it is contrasted with the blurred b/g and dark surround.
The simple frame complements the shot.

Have a good day,
Bev :-)

Hi Janice,
This is so beautiful. I can not believe they grow wild in your garden! I would LOVE to have these flowers here- a bit harder to grow. A very nice and well composed shot. Good focus on the fg with nice natural colors. Very pleasing. TFS Julie

Such a common sight on road sides almost a weed but your presentation has displayed it as a beautful bloom.

Wonderful work.
