[Note Guidelines] Photographer's Note
This is a Vireya (Rhododendrum). It's name means "Rose Tree" and I think this pink one here is so pretty.

Vireyas can grow in warm climates and they are mostly evergreen shrubs growing to around 2 metres, with tough, dark green foliage. They can flower at anytime of the year bearing clusters of beautiful, wide open or funnel-shaped flowers in shades of yellow, orange, coral pink or white.

Janice,

I have been told that the Rhododendron is indigenous to the region around Northern California. Not sure about the reality of that though. One thing is for sure, they are extremely popular all up and down the West Coast of the US. Some of the most beautiful I have seen are in the Seattle area. I am enjoying your flower shots! Nice composition and contrast of colors in this one.

God's best,

TIm

What a feast for the eye, the pink is good enough to eat, excellent detail as well as POV, very very good once again Janice!

In Belgium also, we have Rhododendrons , but they flower only once in the year, not for a long time because the rain, and when there are of several colors, the solid masses are splendid. Your photo fact of arising well the delicacy and the nuances of the colours, it is very well made. Bravo! Claude

The Rhodedendrums here look quite a bit different, I'll have to try and get a shot so you can see them. We also have some that grow wild in the Mt. Hood national Forest, they were towering over our heads at least 12 feet high. The "domestic" version is not so large usually, but can get quite big.
I like the flower shapes in your rhody, very large flowers it looks like. The photo highlights them nicely. Well done.

Tu as le tour de faire de belle macro de tes fleurs. Cette fleur est particulièrement jolie par sa couleur et son semblant de fragilité.
Bien fait.
Manon.
