[Note Guidelines] Photographer's Note
Marilyn and I went scouting for places to take Hans aka The GreenBaron.
We walked the track beside the river for a few Km, and back through the old railway tunnel.
It was so cool in the tunnel...after enduring 24ºC outside.
Tough, I know, but someone has to do it ;)

The Karangahake Gorge is on State Highway 2 between Paeroa and Waihi. Site of the original gold rush in 1875 and steeped in gold mining history, it’s now a more peaceful location offering visitors a perfect place to explore.

Hans is gonna love seeing NZ up close like this Pete. Much better than from a coach!!
I've driven past here but never stopped - a must next time we go by.
Super view, and the ferns show up so well. The water looks a bit low there too - more draughts this summer??

Hi Peter,
Wow great place to be, wonderful nature well captured altough it appears a tad too brigh to me I observe some oE paricular in the clouds. A greay filter may help you here. But what the heck, it a fine view of beautiful New Zealand and I'm looking forward to see it with my own eyes and capture it with my own Nikon :-)

A faboulous place - but then 24 must be agreeable, or is there no wind to cool you of while walking?
I can almost hear the water finding its way through the boulders - lovely composition.

This looks a nice tranquil spot to be I am sure we could all endure the temperature if we had to. Nice pov with great colours and sharp details the ferns are superb well done.

Hi Peter, A very true scene from the NZ stream with the Ponga tree ferns abundant. A good advertisement for getting away from the crowds. It'll be good to meet hans i am sure. TFS. Murray.
