A birds eye view: lake Tikatapu

A contribution to the theme a bird's eye view and well over the Rotorua area at lake Tikatapu or Blue lake. The lake in the right lower corner is lake Rotokakhi or Green lake.In the distance at the left upper corner a small part of lake Rotorua can be observed. great flight in an Otter float plane with awesome views.

PP work: small correction of the horizon, adjustment of saturation, contrast and brightness. Small crop, resized sharpened and framed.

Another stunning shot from the air Hans. What is interesting about Tikitapu is it is not fed by a river, nor feeds a river. I'm happy to see the Douglas Fir trees still standing, the owners want to fell them. The people of Rotorua are against it, I hope they prevail.

Beautiful photo Hans, well captured, I like the cloud formations

Beeaauuutiful! The colours are amazing and the sharpness is fantastic - I reckon those two are the hardest things to get with photography out of a plane! I went skydiving in Rotorua, and the view of these lakes from 10 000ft was really something to behold...Such a lovely part of the country and you captured it well.

Cheers,

Cadi

Always so picturesque driving past these waters, but seeing it from on high makes the lakes look even more beautiful.
The photo is all blue, white and green - quite stunning to see, Hans

Hi Hans

A marvellous aerial view of the volcanic lakes around Rotorua. I took a scenic flight too, but was shooting 'super 8' movie film. Wonderful colour contrasts between the blue & green. Tfs!

Hi Hans,
Excellent contribution for the theme! I like this view looking like a sea of mountains and lakes!
Good saturated colors and beautiful play of shadows and light. Bravo! Annie

Beautiful shot Hansie! I still feel the horizon is off, even though you said you corrected it. I will do a WS for you! What a view, all those lakes isolated is so cool!

Gutentag Hans,

I don't really speak german. Excellent image for the Friday theme. The high POV gives the impression you were a bird (mechanical bird of course). Good sharpness, exposure slightly on the dark side (it was a caracteristic of the D70), but it could also be calibration of my monitor. However, it gives splendid colors saturation. Splendid details in the clouds, balanced compostion. Nice depth. I love it. Great shot and TFS.
