[Note Guidelines] Photographer's Note
McLaren Falls was once an impressive raging waterfall before its flow was restricted for hydroelectric purposes. These days, the falls flows like its normal self only when it rains heavily or on one of the 26 weekends where water is released to let daring kayakers run the white water.

This photo was taken Easter 2008 when there was a water release, I happened to be there when this guy went over the falls in his kayak, he did survive.

In the work shop is a photo of the top of the falls when the water flow is controlled.

Great action capture Ralph. Only minor thing I noticed all your photos have a tint to them, are you using a filter when photographing them? or are you post processing them ?

Great action shot Ralph, nice quick shutter speed to freeze everything. The bright kayak really stands out from the brownish tones of the rocks, looks very natural. Looks like really strong water, well captured.

TFS,
Scott.

Stunning action shot Ralph.
Perfect lighted, sharpnes chould have been stronger.
Nevertheless, very nice to look at it and see the details.
Cheers from Jan

Hi Ralph,
That is impressive and powerful. You could hear the thunder. Sharp, even crisp, I like the composition. Good shot.

I went down some falls in that area 'last century' and what fun it was.
You've caught him well here Ralph. And you see to have captured the action in the middle of a bog flowing rush!! Great shot
Janice
