[Note Guidelines] Photographer's Note
We heard about WINGSPAN birds of prey on the radio a few weeks back. Decided to wait till my eye was better before going down to Rotorua.
Yesterdays newspaper ran a series of photos from the site...so we went down today.
The weather was stunning, and the flying display....incredibly fast.
So I am posting a resting Falcon called Oz.

Swooping down on their prey at speeds of up to 200 kilometres per hour, New Zealand falcons are supreme aerial hunters. The falcon (karearea, Falco novaeseelandiae) almost always takes live prey on the wing, catching it with sharp talons. The fearless bird will attack and kill animals larger than itself.
