The view from the top of Te Mata Peak, on the outskirts of Havelock North, are awesome and breathtaking...almost literally.

It get VERY windy up there such that a specially designed launching ramp has been built for Hang-gliders and para-gliders to use. Alas, there were no such opportunities for photography the day I drove up but the views didn't let me down.

I hope you like this POV looking roughly southwards from the peak. I used a wide-angle setting to capture this panorama. TFV.

Great view from up there Martyn. I've been up there a few times now - but not for ages. (Isn't it in Hawkes Bay? Napier is.)

Taken last March - it does look dry! Very good showing of the dry landscape that would have got more worse over the next couple of months.
