[Note Guidelines] Photographer's Note
When in Napier recently ,we spent some time at a lookout, where we enjoyed watching some of the port activity.

Even with out sunshine, the colours were lovely ,and the feeling of activity and life that we watched over was fun!
(inspired by Robert Calve, of course!;-)

The SEASIDE???
I can't see any sand here for my sand castles... :Looks like very serious fun here at Port Napier Meagan... You must have had a ball here. And Robert would feel right at home too.
And what did you think of the stony beaches at Napier?
TFS
Janice

Hi Meagan,
I like the depth that you have chosen in this one, it is plenty to get you all the way to the horizon and for a day with bad light well done. Good interesting picture with plenty of areas of interest all with great sharpness and detail to be able to see what you want in it.

Nice going,

Cheers

Steve

Hi Meagan, a very busy port scene, well composed and despite what seems a gllomy day, good colour and light. Excellent all over detail and focus. TFS,
David

Hello Meagan!

Thanks for the view of Napier harbour! Pretty neat ship you have here. It changes for the rusty ones I attended recently.

Cool view , and POV making sure the stern of the ship is still clearly visible. .

I can't read the name entirely : Illa------ Chief ?.
Just asking to find more about her ?

OK - I found a few things about her:

The vessel commenced service with Chief Container Service ( Australia ) April 27th, 2004 in Tauranga to join the CCS fleet. The Illawarra Chief joined the Tauranga Chief on the Trans Tasman service providing both eastbound and westbound services for containerized and breakbulk cargoes. The two vessel’s combining providing a fortnightly service. The Illawarra Chief are making direct port calls at Bell Bay, Melbourne, Port Kembla, Sydney, Auckland, Napier, Lyttelton and Tauranga.

The vessel is named after the Illawarra region, in which Port Kembla is situated. The Port is a regular call for the CCS Trans Tasman service. The Illawarra region is located just 80km south of Sydney and is surrounded by superb national parks all with magnificent natural features. The vibrant City of Wollongong combines the beauty of a coastal city with the industrial and commercial operations of Port Kembla.

The vessel particulars being as follows:-

Vessel Name – Illawarra Chief
Lloyds Number - 9017630
Flag - Malta
Built - Japan 1993

Thanks again,
Robert
