[Note Guidelines] Photographer's Note
I visited this church in Pukehou today and was impressed with its style, condition and location.

It was built in 1859 and stands surrounded by grand oak trees which, as autumn approaches in New Zealand, are heavily laden with acorns.

The surrounding Hawke's Bay countryside was parched dry and bleached to brown hues yet the grounds of this church was like an oasis of greenery under the welcome shade of these fine oak trees.

A beautiful and relaxing location! TFV.

I did the following in PSP...

1. Reduced original photo to 800 pixel length
2. Slight cropping
3. Adjusted colour saturation
4. Gamma correction
5. Resharpened

Hello Martyn,

You have thought very carefully about the viewpoint and composition of this and it has been worth all your efforts; the aspect, between the trees, just makes this special!

Kind regards,
Bev :-)

Great view. Speakes both ways. The old tree and the church

A wonderful composition of this nice chruch as seen through the majestic trunk of the oak tree. I like how the shadows infront lead the eye towards the pristine white of the church building. TFS
