Hello Hans,
I just followed up the reports from your NZ trip. Sounds like you really had a great time and looks you have taken heaps of great shots and memories. Travelling opens your mind and soul and the most reasonable way to waste a lifetime.
Free as a bird - isn't that a dream? For me it is and its good to see the gannets here flying free in a free and clear blue sky. TFS Thomas

HAHA! I am SO GLAD you corrected the horizon here, it was driving me mad! (I'm almost there!) There is SUPER Hans! I love the sharpness here, no OE!! Nice balance between the two birds. I love the deep blue sky!! B-)
XOXOXOX

Two birds with one stone this time! Very nice Hans. Amazing to me that you manage to get them so sharp in mid-flight. Great job.

Hello Hans,
Very nice shot of the flying Gannet. The composition is fine, it's sharp and clear and the background is beautiful, thanks!

Hello Hans,
Thanks for the useful technical notes. Much appreciated. Knowing how often you travel overseas. Put on your agenda to visit our Gaspesian colony at Bonaventure Island OK ? If the timing is good, I would glady join you despite a 12 hours drive from here....
Sharp and effective compo. The funny note is also and invitation to add a comemnt (^_^).
Take care !

I really like the angle of the wings and the details in the bird in the foreground - a very dynamic "pose". I'm not sure that the bird in the background adds anything to the shot and think it distracts from the foreground bird. But one man's distraction is another man's balanced composition, and either way round its a great shot of a bird in flight!
Thanks for sharing

What a busy sky - looks like the local airport.
I'm pleased you worked on that horizon!!
They are awesome birds, aren't they?

Magnificent!
Well done Hans, this is a superb capture of this gannet in flight. Impressive wing span! Those gannet colonies certainly do get a bit crowded. GReat photo. Tfs.
Best wishes,

Interesting POV here. Nice and crisp even without sharpening. Your interpretation of the traffic pattern is humourous. Great job with the polarizer. TFS. Karin
