Tribute to flight TH1951

This morning at 10:31 local time a Turkish Airlines B737-800 crashed just before landing at Amsterdam Schiphol Airport. I feel very sorry for the passengers and crew involved and I wish to post this image as a tribute to them who perished in the crash also wish the passengers who are injured all the best and a hope they will recover soon. For them who are left behind wish them all the strength in the oncoming time.

This image of a landing gannet is the tribute and remembrance to the victims of Turkish Airlines flight TK1951.

I saw that on the news this morning Hans and I immediately was worried about you. I'm not sure what city you work in, but I was worried! This is very sad and I know your industry tries to avoid this at all turns! This photo is beautiful! A fitting post for this tribute. Glad you are ok!

Hans, a very fitting tribute. I heard about the crash when I first got up this morning. My thoughts are with all those who lost family members today, and with the injured.
Trudy

hi hans,
a great tribute.

just as i clicked onto your pic it came on the news on the tv. a coincidence?

my thoughts are with them also.

Trampas

A bit to dark in my opinion.
Using shadow highlight in PSCS3 gives better images in my opinion
Using tragic news items like this must not support by this type of photos.

hi hans thanks much for your open hearted note...
one of my friend who is working in my company was also in that plane. after some minutes of the crash we heard the accident by his call.. he told that we will soon know the accident, and he is outside the plane, walking in the field...
it was great to know that he is ok...
on the other hand we are so sad anout the others ... :(

Hello Hans,
Thanks for your kind words and dedication.

Hi Hans

Just last night I was watching a 737 flying in over our house and marvelling at the engineering and technology that makes flight so safe and reliable.

Accidents are inevitable but I take heart in the fact that more people seem to be surviving air crashes in recent years.

I know how close to your heart this must be.

A fitting tribute in this shot, showing the simple joy of flight.

Nice sentiment Hans, it was a miracle that more people were'nt killed.
A bit too close to home for you.
Another stunning gannet shot Hans, that landing gear make good airbrakes eh.
Pete.

A good and sharp photo of this gannet. I know how hard it is to take such a shot.

a note which is coming straight from the heart. I agree, i feel very sorry too for the victims. Nobody wants to be involved in a crash, it must have been so scary.

A touching tribute Hans, for the crew and passengers on the Turkish Airlines flight TK1951 at Schiphol Airport.

It's an awesome image of the gannet and it is wonderful to know that even though the plane did crash there were many lives saved.

Janice

Horrible news, Hans, and almost exactly 24 hours after we flew out of Schiphol.

As to the image, another great capture of a bird in flight - and the composition seems fitting given the circumstances. An air of respectful calm seems to emanate from this shot but perhaps could be a little brighter.

Hoi Hans.
Groeten,
Jan

hi hans, a wonderful picture and a fine tribute, take care,

hi!
super aufnahme!!!
genial!!!
schön von dir zu hören!
tfs!

Hello Hans !

We just flew back from Sunny Mexico ourselves. Original shot for your tribute to the victims. Crystal clear . Landing gear out, approaching the track! Simple but very effective composition. Simple as your tribute.

Weird Fact: Did you know engineers copied the design of the bird to create the nose of the Concorde ?

Take care,
Robert
