My Daughter, I had to convince her to pose for me as she doesn't really like me taking photos of her.

This was taken when I used a Sony Cybershot f707, I still use it but not often

I desaturated & framed in Photoshop no other post processing was done.

Nice shot Sue, however she's not looking too impressed, probably a case of mum get that damm thing away from me, you've already taken enough photos of me today. That's why I'm lucky mine can't tell me to bugger off just yet.

I can see she doesn't like to be photographed :)))))
Anyway, your pict. is nice like your daughter :)
Great DOF nice sharp portrait.
cheers

I know that look! One way to find out if it's a good photo is to ask her Sue!
It is a good portrait, my only problem is the hat shading the right side of her face. But I don't think you should ask her to take the hat off!! It has good clear details, so well done.

Ah kids... They never want to be photographed, yet are very happy when you make a photo of them :)) I am very familiar with that, I know how you feel.
You did a very good job here because people usually don't take good portraits of their kids, although they think that are the best photos in the world! It's not the photo that's best, it is their kid who is the best, but photo... Thankfully, this one is a good portrait, as I said before. DOF is exellent chosen and it makes this background perfectly blur. Your composition and her pose is excellent, I especially like the wa she leaned her shoulders and turned her head towards camera, it makes nice diagonal line at the bottom. Hat also makes good horizontal "break" at the top, which is also a good detail.
The fact that you placed the camera a bit lower shows how much she is big in your eyes, and that's captured in a nice way. I only wish you used some reflector or fill-in flash to lighten her eyes, because you left the most important part of the photo too dark. :( But OK, teenagres don't want to reveal all their secrets to camera, they need a lot of self esteem to do that. Tell your daughter that she should never hide her beautiful face, she doesn't have a reason to do that.
Good luck with your future sessions!

Regards
Robert

Hello Sue,
It's absolutely a brilliant photo: the BG is blurred nicely, the frame is well managed, the border tastfully chosen and most of all - you have a very beautiful model to pose for you (O.K, maybe she seems a bit reluctant to pose but with great looks such as hers she shouldn't). Also, maybe after getting all these compliments she will be chasing you and asking for you to photograph her :))
who knows..
TFS,

Shelly.

First this is a very good photo. Second, When she is older She likes to see the phots from the past. To share it withe her new boyfrend.
