[Note Guidelines] Photographer's Note
Today I went to watch my daugher practice skating, I took the camera along.

Here is my favourite photo.

I used Paintshop to select the skater, inverted the selection and desaturated the background.
I then resized and framed.

Hi, Sue, one to be proud of ! The deselective desaturation worked wonderfully here. The only thing I would change is just rotate the shot by a couple of degrees counterclockwise.

But definitely a keeper ! Plus it is great to take pictures of your kids doing their thing, great memories that will last forever.

Nice shot Sue! Good use of selective desaturation technique to highlight your daughter. I agree with Marleen on the slight rotation. But still a nice memory you have made.

Skating ballet is it Sue? Well captured, and I bet your daughter is happy with this. She looks very good in her actions and style. What you have done with the colours is great, it is something I haven't tried yet, so good on you. It's a good job!

Hey Sue, I haven't seen you for ages!! :) Though I'm a skateboarder I wouldn't dare to put on those rollerskates :))) I don't feel safe to know that I couldn't just jump off of it :))) Good capture, and clever use of colour and B&W!!
cheers

Hi Sue
I must say that she seems to be a good skater .... i like her stance is if ready for take off ...
When I look at the composition .. I must say that I would have been tempted to include her shadow in the photo just to add some drama to the photo ....
thanks for sharing ... cheers ... sarju

great shot... nice composition... tfs!
