I went to Kimbolton Gardens today, this bright orange leaf stood out on this real winter's day, a chilly 5 degrees celcius

Notes below from: http://www.ourregion.co.nz/toseeanddo.php?articleID=321

Kimbolton has much to offer garden lovers. Leading into summer, all the gardens are a bloom of bright colour.

Three gardens are open to the public, Cross Hills, Heritage Park and Woodland Grange.

3 or 4 minutes north of Kimbolton on Rangiwahia Road is Cross Hills Gardens, run by the Wilson Family. Their gardens are immense, covering 7 hectares with 2000 different varieties of rhododendron and an astounding collection of other tress, shrubs and flowering plants. The gardens are graced with a beautiful waterway, and have wonderful views of the northern Manawatu countryside.

Cross Hills is a world class attraction. It has gained the attention of tour companies, and has recently become part of a Tourism New Zealand promotion. Several Japanese tour companies have included Cross Hills on their tours, bringing foreign export earnings into Kimbolton.

Heritage Park Rhododendron Garden is on the outskirts of Kimbolton, down Haggerty Street. The gardens are situated on 4 hectares of rolling countryside and feature over 1000 species of rhododendron and associated trees and shrubs. 6 small lakes and stunning views of the Ruahine’s complement the vivid display of flowering plants. Run by the Rhododendron Association of New Zealand , Heritage Park is a non profit garden.

And in Kimbolton itself is Woodland Grange 13 Grammar Street, a small garden of 4 acres with a pond, and large varieties of mature trees, rhododendrons, camellias, roses, hydrangeas and daffodils in spring. Woodland Grange also has accommodation and a chapel and is a popular venue for weddings.

Nice shot Steven, very clear, sharp and well focused. Simplistic but effective, well seen.

TFS,
Scott.

Eyecatching shot, hadn't noticed this one! The contrast of orange and yellow vs. the blue sky works really well! Nice sharpness.

Don't like the frame but that's a personal thing.
