[Note Guidelines] Photographer's Note
A trip into the Tararua Range last weekend took me up this beautiful valley flanked by meandering road, sometimes on the edge of a sheer drop to the valley floor far below. Panoramic views, lush shades of green, hardly a breeze, and the sun eventually came out. A pleasant drive into the heart of the Tararuas.

This is so typical of the Manawatu landscape,though I guess it could be almost anywhere in NZ.
I just love beng in this kind of hill country.

Tranquil green mood captured well. TFS. K2

Terrific view of this valley stream and surrounding scenery. I think it would benefit from a little contrast adjustment to bring out the colors, especially needed in the sky. The topographical shapes and lines give this image strong features and visual interest. Love the shadow cast by the tree in the foreground. Is that a barrel around the trunk? What is it for? Great shot:)
