[Note Guidelines] Photographer's Note
There has already been several falls of snow in New Zealand this Winter. I took this photo recently of a tree fern after the melt had set in. If you look closely you can see the water drops at the end of some of the frondlets.

Thanks for viewing.

Hi Martyn,
Very cool, a good example of how cold it's starting to get now that we are in wintertime. My car gets iced over almost every morning now. Nice shallow DOF from the low aperture, the B&W comes across quite well too. The way you've cropped it makes the fronds look like tyres.

TFS,
Scott.

Hi Martyn
Wonderful capture and perspective
Great details
Thanks

Hello Martyn,

Lovely close-up details of the fronds, giving a very textured, fabric impression.
I love your dof which fades the repeating images perfectly.

Kind regards,
Bev :-)

Hi Martyn,

georgous presentation, yes the snow melting into little drops that you captured so sharply and with a superb clarity and good choice with the B/W, it shows the contrast clearly.. nice repetition of the leaves and very effective DOF.. Brillient work..

have a great WE

So the north island really does get snow in the winter?? Great shot Martyn .. I bet this would have been nice in color as well.
Love the repeating arching branches of the fern. Nice detailed close-up
