~ Grand Foyer ~

This is the foyer of Bushy Park homestead which is located 20km west of Wanganui off State Highway 3. The impressive Edwardian building is located within a 240 acre protected reserve. Upon entering this homestead visitors are immediately struck by the impressive display from this large stained-glass window.

The reserve in which the homestead now stands has a specially designed protective perimeter fence intended to keep predators out. The whole estate is effectively a area of conservation, many kiwis are known to live and breed there and other endangered species such as the saddleback bird.

For further information regarding the Bushy Park reserve and the Edwardian homestead check out their website.

Hi Martyn, I see we're neighbours tonight.
This is another well exposed view of those beautiful stained glass windows.
Very well handled.
Pete.

Good day!

Oana

Hi Martyn,
Wow, this is a really beautiful room with traditional furniture, nicely composed, symmertic photograph. You did a great job, because despite the poor light conditions inside, you managed to take a sharp and moody photo. TFS:
Best regards,
Kristof

Hello Martyn,

This cannot have been an easy shot but you have coped with the differential light conditions very well.
The subdued light of the interior makes the focal stained-glass window even more impressive.
How pleasing that such an effort is being placed on the conservation of native species.

Kind regards,
Bev :-)

A well executed shot Martyn,
The reflection on the cabinet is great and the PoV is spot-on. I know not everybody likes HDR but this would have been an interesting one to try. I try to shoot everything in RAW so I can make an HDR version if the camera version is disappointing
cheers
Jack

dear Martyn,
a wonderful ambience in the special room.
the light through the stained glass is soft,
in that darkness, all objects looks so calm.
thank you for your nice shot in quiet air,
Akihisa

Hi Martyn,
A fine interior shot, a bit odd of the ordinary for you. Like the composition in square. The carpet act as a kind of lead in to the stained glass window. Well arrive at the window it appears a bit OE to me. Well I made WS to show how it can be improved in my opinion. Anyway a fine posting Martyn!
