[Note Guidelines] Photographer's Note
The weather forecast for most of the North Island this weekend is for strong winds and rain so this morning I decided to take an early morning drive before the sunshine disappeared.

I took this photo at the eastern aspect of the Manawatu Gorge. The sides of the steep gorge has a rich cover of evergreen native bush. The Manawatu River which flows through the gorge is quite high right now due to bouts of heavy rain we have had in the region over recent weeks.

Hi Martyn,
Excellent POV, looks good with the water leading around the corner in the distance. The bright orange trees line the shoreline well & the rolling green hills are nicely saturated and exposed too. Can just spot the windmills at the top of the hill, peaceful scene. Well taken.

Nice spot for a picnic, I would love to stop and boil the kettle here and spend some time taking in the tranquility.

The curve of the river is nice and the aspect looking towards the windfarm reminds us we are never far from civilisation.
