~ Gone Fishing ~

During a visit to Cross Hills Gardens, located near the village of Kimbolton in the Manawatu, I came across a waterfall and series of landscaped ponds. This amusing ornamental frog caught my eye as he was prominently seated in the largest pond.

I croped my original photo so that the frog is surrounded by the reflection in the pond.

For another POV, check him out in my w/s photo. :-)

Now for the gardens...

The landscaped Cross Hills Gardens cover 18 acres. Rhododendrons and Azaleas abound and there is such variety in growing habit, flower colour/size and floiage that every visitor is assured to be impressed.

There are also many fine tree specimens including some which are over 100yrs of age. There are now in excess of 2000 species or varieties of rhododendron and azalea planted in these stunning grounds!

A great place to visit, stroll around, relax and take in the splendid views across the gardens and beyond to the Ruahine Ranges, Kapiti Island, and Mount Ruapehu. Well worth a visit!

Thanks for viewing.
