une très belle photo mais je ne comprends pas le choix des trois zones; sur fond bleu nuit c'est superbe, sur fond naturel aussi mais la combinaison ainsi faite par bande autant être franche j'aime pas vraiment...

Hey Martyn,

I'm donning my curmudgeon cap right now. I realize that I am probably in the minority here. I've mentioned it before on this site and I'll probably get myself a reputation for it, but I really don't care for these types of frames.

I understand the value of framing a photo. I love framing my images when they get printed and I have several hanging on my walls right now. I just find these nouveau digital frames distracting from the main subject.

I would love to comment on how the bluebells contrast with the background colors or focus, but I can't really tell. Even though you seem to have tried to separate the flowers by desaturating the background, there is so much going on with the changing colors, horizontal lines, and chunky black frame that they seem to get lost.

To be honest, it looks like you tried to dress up an acceptable shot with some high-tech framing wizardry.

You have wonderful work in your library. In fact, the previous image to this one, "Floral Warmth," is absolutely stunning. Everything about it is wonderful without excessive framing. I'm headed over there to give it a super-smiley right now.

Some might say that my images are too plain without a border and I can accept that. I hope you don't take this too personally and that I was more constructive than offensive. Let me know if otherwise.
