Ravages of Time.

I found this garden display while on holiday up north just before Christmas.

Many Northlanders seem to park their vehicles in fields or on the sides of the road, and never touch them again. Maybe the expense of running them is too dear. Maybe they ran out of petrol, or couldn’t afford to keep it on the road. Many reasons – but the vehicles just sit and the grass grows higher and the weeds and roses take over. I just thought the wild roses growing around the Peugeot look so pretty.

Our Photo club has a topic chosen in a few months time called Ravages of Time. I have been looking for something to suit the topic and this is one of my suggestions – so far.

I’m away for a while and will be back soon. Have a good week, and be kind to each other!

Happy Birthday for tomorrow Dawn! Sorry I won't be here to celebrate, but something better came up!! My son's wedding ...

Hello, Janice,
The photo is well composed, sharp, with nice bright colours. I also think that the wild roses around the car look pretty.
Happy birthday to you and Janice tomorrow :)

And after just seeing the one at Dawn you also found a delicious piece of old junk Janice. Its a very nice contrast with the great nature around it!! TFS and smiles..

You know, those rambling roses on the right hand side will soon be far more beautiful than the car ever was! Nature overcomes man once again.
Great colours and details. superb POV and composition

Hello Janice, well you picked a good image for the theme ravages of time. Well expressed.

The image is very sharp and clear as well.

And I want to wish you a Happy Birthday and I learned reading Dawn's note that you are away for your son's wedding. Well, congratulations for you and the new couple to be! This is a great moment in a lifetime.

Take care, Yan :)

Hello Janice.
Just told my sister in law how beautiful, the 'North' is, as she goes to Wellington, at 15 Feb. to see her son and grandchildren again.
Now you shows us how they park their cars. lol
Still it looks a nice place to live.
Have a splendid time at the wedding of your son. Give them our best wishes fot future.

Hi Janice,
This is a very nice composition with the vegetation that is starting to cover that old car. The colors and sharpness are excellent.
Happy Birthday to you Janice and a great wedding for your son.

Nice photo Janice! There's a few beach communities around the West Coast of the North Island not far from Wellington where similar photos could be taken (-:

Happy birthday for Monday too... I would have wished you on the day (as it's also my b'day) but was sick in bed with a stomach bug from which I am still recovering :(

Funny capture Janice!

Well seen and presented. I usually old, beaten and rusty cars in fileds. This one looks pretty new despite the right rear ligth seems to be missing and the right rail on the roof too.

Lovely garden (^_^) . That is the beauty ogf Nature. it corrects so beautifully the landscape. It takes time, but it always wins .

Cheers!
Robert

Oops! Happy belated birthday Janice!
We have a house just down the road from us right in the middle of suburbia which looks just like this Janice. The only attractive part of the whole section are the roses running rampant. Excellent capture with good colour and detail. TFS,
David

Hi Janice

Mmmmm.....
Love it (your site I am talking about). Thank you for visiting mine in order for me to get to know you and visit yours.

Your notes are to be taken note of (*_*). Do you do a lot of research on any of your photo's. Some of them are in real detailed descriptions. esp your flowers etc.

What a garden display.
