Hi Janice,
this is a really beautiful photo of a old building (church), and choice of sepia makes all more interesting.
I can see more of details (and car too).
Processing is very well done, clouds are very imposing.
Beautiful discovery :)

Hi Janice,
Abandoned places are always interesting and often makes good photos. This is no exception. I like your choice of sepia, I love the way the details and textures of the church contrasts against that smooth sky. The person looking in to the church adds to the composition and so does the car. Well seen and captured.

Clearly a 'runner', this one, Janice! Well done on the composition (church, tree, meadows and sky - and peeping niece) and sepia tone which completely changes the mood of such an impression. (Though her dressing style is modern.) - Cordelia :))

It's a truly beautiful image of an old building.
The sepia tone adds moods to it. I love the details and hard textures of the building against the soft, fluffy sky. Beautiful composition, great atmosphere.
Well done.

This is a lovely shot, Janice!
Is there a town nearby because this building looks completely isolated!
I like your pov, taking the building from the corner rather than the front or the side; it helps the perspective!
Good, sharp image and one that responds welll to sepia!
Kind regards,
Bev :-)

Kia Ora Janice,
Nice to hear from you. Ues its been a while since i've posted any images of note here....I seem to have been really busy doing lots of nothing if you know what I mean. Other than retiring from work that is!!!!!
You really need to visit the Sacre Couer next time you are in Paris. I was with my Kiwi friends, Mike and Liz Hall, who live in Northcote, when I took that shot of the roof of the Basilica. They had RWC tickets and were crying all week. Never mind. :(. We didn't fair well in the final either!
Well I didn't see this church on my travels to the Bay of Islands, but you have captured the scene wonderfully. it works great in sepia. Well done.
I do remember however, there being lots of abandoned cars in fields all over NZ, both islands. It seemed a shame to me that they were left to rot. Indicative of the rural economy I suppose.
Thanks for your kind comments, and thanks for posting. Must look this beauty up on my next visit to Aoterora.
Take Care,
John

Hi Janice
Its been a while since I could get back to this. just trying to catch up on yours and Dawns work has taken a while.
In this photo it was the sky not the building that caught my attention, Like the detail and tones the sky has, makes a great frame around the Church.
As usual detail, sharpness and notes well done.

Hi Janice,
Sorry to have missed this photo! There are many old buildings in our rural landscapes, too. Unfortunately, the snow and repetitive hard winters make strong ravages on them and they collapse after a few years of abandonment. Your climate gives you several advantages for their preservation.
Very good composition, here and very good sharpness and sepia conversion. Your cousin looking by window gives a nice wink at the curiosity which we have about these old buildings. Congratulations! Annie

Hi Janice,
My own interest in old buildings immediately drew my eye to this image - the sepia adds to the mood of viewing old architecture the inquisitive stance of the woman adds to the mood.
Best wishes,

Hi Janice,
I really like this. I use sepia sparingly but there are some shots for which it is ideal, this is one of them. Great texture in the clouds, and crispness in the building. Thanks!
