It's all about the colours here, Hans, and you've caught them very nicely. I'm not sure there's much else to say, really - the simple stuff you do very well(i mean that as a compliment, not everyone does it so well) and the rest falls into place. It's a pleasant, clean view and you've captured it. Nice shot.

Hallo Hans,
Wellicht bundelt deze foto een hele reeks van clichés die Nieuw-Zeeland maken tot wat het is. Met andere woorden: je levert hier het prototype van een prentkaart af, maar dan wel een behoorlijk geslaagde. De kleuren van het schuurtje en de bloeiende struik mogen dan al niet echt bij elkaar passen (althans in mijn ogen), het geheel straalt een zekere authenticiteit uit.
De compositie is mooi en uitnodigend: je krijgt zin om de helling op te klauteren en deze vallei vanuit de hoogte te overschouwen.
Het enige wat ik anders zou hebben gedaan, is de scherptediepte: die is wat mij betreft te sterk (f/22) om écht natuurlijk over te komen. Daardoor zijn de heuvel en de bomen op de achtergrond iets te prominent aanwezig en trekken zij enigszins de aandacht weg van het schuurtje. Een iets zachtere scherptediepte zou meer suggestieve kracht geven, denk ik. Maar misschien is dat niet de eerste bedoeling van een prentkaart...
In elk geval leuk om je wedervaren "down under" vanuit mijn luie stoel te kunnen meemaken ;o).

Nicely seen Hans, good on you for taking the trouble to get pix most NZers would never see.
I like how the Bougainviiea bridges the colours and textures together.

Hallo Hans,

Mooi rood is niet lelijk, zeggen ze hier.
De kleur rood van huis is prachtig maar de rodondendrons (?) hebben ze vast niet op kleur erbij gezocht (LOL)
Het huis had wat mij betreft meer naar rechts gemogen maar ik vind het een weer een heel mooie.

Wow, this one really jumps out Hans, because of the bold saturated colors - from the shed and the flowers to the grass and trees. Too bad the colors of the shed and boug. clash ... but that's no fault of the photographers:) It's a great capture - great composition.

Hi Hans,

IMpressive strong colours and effective pov make this an awesome composition. Well seen and captured. The bouganvillea is a fine specimen of a plant, obviously likes growing there.

The Bay of Islands is a stunningly beautiful part of New Zealand. Great work! Tfs.

Urupukapuka island - so you visited this island - Lovely.
It is such an attractive place here Hans, and the red paint and pink bougainvillea flowers take over the whole scene - better than sitting in a cafe.

of dit prachtige bouwsel hier door de welstand commissie komt betwijfel ik. toch zijn dit de speciale detail die het geheel van de omgeving juist zo mooi kleuren. Mooi compo en een sfeer vol gebouwtje.
