Yes, the Toetoes blowing in the wind.
These look quite orange here, and I think they may not be the native NZ Toetoe plant. Especially as they are growing among the bracken ferns and with the purple flower growing in the background too, I think they may be the imported plants all gone wild on the side of the road.
Still, it is an interesting photo.

Another great photo Anna and extremely sharp, the plant is actually called a "Toi Toi" and and I have always pronounced it as "Toy Toy"

HHHMMMM..I think these must be dutch Toi Toi Anna..:-) just joking..I think Janice could be right, they dont look like the normal Toi Toi... too brown and bushy. But arent they lovely.
