St Andrews - Matakana

St Andrews Presbyterian Church was built in Matakana in 1895 and named in honour of the Patron Saint of Mariners. The St. Andrews Church is constructed mainly of Kauri and has its original kauri pews and a modified kauri pulpit.

PP work: adjustment to details and colour using the Topaz Detail filter in Photoshop, I have boosted the details quite a bit to emphasize the beautiful filigree work on the eves of the roof and porch.

Thanks for looking.

hi ralph
great image nice pov, good colours and as usual excellent detail.
regards
jimmy

Very clean, very tidy shot. In my opinion the Topaz effect is perhaps a little much - at least in terms of levelling out the dynamics. Sometimes, more variety between light and shade can add depth and mood to a shot. This almost has the feeling of a painting, rather than a photograph, because of the homogeneity of the light.

Nicely composed though and good use of the wide lens.
