Windy Walk

| [Note Guidelines] Photographer's Note |
Took this photo some time ago of part of the New Plymouth Coastal Walkway, at times the waves crash right over the walkway.
Coastal Walkway
The award-winning Coastal Walkway is a 7km path that forms an expansive sea-edge promenade stretching almost the entire length of the city.
Ideal for walking, running, cycling or skating, or simply enjoying the view of the dramatic west coast, the walkway connects popular recreational areas and the CBD to the sea.
The walkway runs from the Waiwhakaiho River mouth to the east to Port Taranaki to the west, with numerous pedestrian access points dotted along the way. It consists mostly of a paved pathway, with a gravel section at the Waiwhakaiho end.

I have to say - I've never been to New Plymouth and I know little of it, although my wife went there a couple of years ago and loved it.
This shot shows a dramatic coastline, an impressive place! Nicely metered and well composed.

Hi Ralph, that wall is new since I've been down there. Was it put there to protect the bank as well as making the walking, running, cycling or skating pathway? Great idea.
Nicely composed image - but the white halos showing around the Norfolk pines and the roofs plus the greenery on the cliff above the left wall mean that you have over-sharpened the photo just a little too much. That is a tip to watch out for.

Hi Ralph,
Nice point of view for this scene, you captured the breaker at just the right time.
They are beautiful homesteads, but I couldn't imagine putting up with the constant wind and salt spray.
Cheers,
Pete.
