[Note Guidelines] Photographer's Note
It was my first test to make a picture like this and I think it looks fine. The wet sand was like a mirror and have mirrored the sunshine and the shadows.
The picture was made on the beach in Wanganui.

your horizon is a bit tilted and maybe your main figure a bit off to one side not so centered. still a nice shot

Hello Martin, I see you have been on a holiday to New Zealand..Kia Ora to you, and welcome to Treklens. I like the effect you have here, well done, as postcard mentioned.. horizon a little tilted, and maybe just too centred. but I would like to try this myself.with the sun and the shiloutte of a person..
Hope you enjoyed New Zealand. Thanks for sharing.

Kiwi Dawn

Hello. I just love this kind of work. Good natural effect. Good work. Well done. :O)

Hi Martin,
Beautiful sillhoutte, lovely focus and details, even whispy bits of hair poking out! A couple of comments from others about the horizon and the centred person. I wonder if we always need the rule of thirds, so I did a workshop to see if it looks better off centre or not. What do you think?
Karen

Yes! If the sun give a good effect as attempt... The reflection is especially dark into the sand! That's interesting for that point!

Very cool photo Martin but i feel as Karen (dorisday) feels, although i think the cloud to the right is too distracting therefore have cropped the other way, sharpened and added to workshop.

Hi Martin,

Apart from the subject being to central (just my personal opinion) this is a very good image, nice exposure, contrast, colour and look at those impressive contrails overhead. Well done.

Hi Martin,
a good idea to block direct sunlight to keep the image from becoming darker,
great silhouette,
Cheers TFS,

Great use of shadows and light in this picture, though like said before, the cloud is a bit distracting, its still a very nicely composed picture. Keep it up.

ola Martin.
adoro toda a luminosidade da foto e a textura da areia. a figura em frente ao sol da um toque especial a composicao.
Bom trabalho.
Luci

I think you did well on your experiment. The mirror effect is cool. You broke up your shot well into 1/3s.

Hi,Martin,I think you did well on your experiment. :)

Extermely beautiful beautiful saturation.
Just love the colors all over in this with the reflection.
