[Note Guidelines] Photographer's Note
Hi,
Taken last year during my visit to New Zealand for the British Lions tour.
This was taken from the side of Mount Taranaki at 5.27am on a very cold winter morning.
I parked my camper van on the car park of a ski field above stafford which is about a third of the way up Mt. Taranaki and was up before dawn with camera in hand, and monopod. Unfortunately I didn't plan for the effect the cold air would have on my warm lens, and it immedeately fogged up. So I had a wait and used lots of tissues wiping the condensation of the lens before I could shoot a series of shots of the sunrise, above the clouds. Another magnificent sunrise! They say sunrises are not as spectacular as sunsets, well things are different in New Zealand, as you can see.
I put this through neat image to reduce the compression noise that always accompnies resizing for TL.
Hope you like the scene. It is more magnificent in high res!
Take Care,
John.

What a beautiful sky Johnny, wonderful deep colours and patterns. It's quite awesome... It must have been freezing up the mountain!!

And I'm sure you must be following the rugby up your way right now? We're certainly following it down under. And NZ is also fighting over building a new stadium for the World Cup... No one can agree with what to do about it right now!!

Thank you for showing us how beautiful some of our NZ sunrises can be...
Janice

I like it, John, the colors are magnificent! Good job on the PP here as I think it really helped.
