Twisted "Clouds"

| [Note Guidelines] Photographer's Note |
For Fridays theme. Michael Smithers “Clouds”
This Michael Smither sculpture is made up of 4 identical “clouds” and was gifted to the city by the artist.
Each of the four sculptures on display have been twisted one quarter to allow the design to be shown to the best advantage. It is set in one of the small lakes which divide Pukekura Park from the Brooklands Bowl. Needless to say the gift came accompanied by controversy about cost of maintenance and installation – was clouds the right name for this sculpture - many and varied were the other suggestions, and various other considerations. Time has brought acceptance and now its considered a vital part of the more modern look for the area.
The reflections often double the number however the water lilies have grown so much that the reflections are not as evident as they used to be |

Hi Kay, I added your photo to the Twisted theme. Definitely a good one for the theme too.
I like those sculptures, they remind me of ducks preening themselves, they get into such unusual angles like that.
Well done

Hello Kay,
Like everyone else, I thought these were birds (swans) from the thumbnail.
They are even better because you can imagine they are whatever fits the image best.
I love the reflections. A very interesting composition!
Kind regards,
Bev :-)
