[Note Guidelines] Photographer's Note
Mount Dampier Falls These falls are situated in a remote part of Northern Taranaki. Access is a wee bit of a challenge and the roads are best suited to a 4WD, I had no trouble with the roads in my AWD Ford Territory. From the road there is a 30 minute walk to the falls. The falls are 74 metres high and can be viewed from two different vantage points which look across a deep ravine to the falls, there is no access to the base of the falls unless you happen to be a goat. This photo is the taken from the lower viewing area which is the better of the two.

The 1/10 shutterspeed creates the perfect veil of the fall. Nice well balanced composition too. A fine posting of NZ natural beauty!

Silky waterfall, it looks very long and flows nicely, if your into waterfalls you would enjoy Columbia River Gorge in Oregan, USA.

Beauty Ralph, I would love to see these falls in person one day. Would have to borrow my brother's 4WD Caldina to get their by the sounds of it though! Lol. Looks like it was worth the drive and the 30-minute walk to get there. Perfectly cropped, you've frozen the water really well too. Impressive post.

Hi Ralph

Like the way that the frame and ferns border the waterfall on three sides.
The long exposure has produced a silky effect on the water.
