Welcome to the Italian Renaissance section of the Hamilton Gardens. I took this photo today when I drove down to Hamilton. The traffic down there was a bit chaotic due to everybody going away for the Easter Holidays but it was nice once I got down there, managed to avoid any speeding tickets too :).

The Hamilton Gardens are owned and operated by the Hamilton City Council and were opened in the 1960s. They attract well over 600,000 visitors per year and offer free entry and plenty of parking. It really is a ‘must-see’ place to go if you’re ever in the area.

The theme of the gardens is to promote the appreciation and understanding of gardens, their history, context and meaning. This theme is addressed through a wide range of different types of gardens. Some of the more popular features are: A Chinese Scholar's Garden, Indian Char Bagh Garden, Japanese Garden of Contemplation, Italian Renaissance Garden, English Flower Garden, a Modernist Garden, Victorian Flower Garden, Herb Garden, large Kitchen Garden and the Roger's Rose Garden.

There is something new to discover around every corner so if you’re ever in Hamilton, be sure to have a look.

Thanks for viewing and Happy Easter to all.

Amazing gardens, shown well in your photo, natural tones and great detail

From Muriwai to Hamilton - you certainly travelled today Scott.
I've not been to the gardens down at Hamilton - yet. It is a must for me - one day.
I have only seen parts of this Italian Renaissance section of the Hamilton Gardens, and you now let us see the whole area - it is quite a beautiful sight.
Very impressive - well done
Janice

Hey Scott!

Great shot of this wonderful garden and its surroundings. I think you've squeezed just about all that you can fit into this photo. Very sharp and the colors are fantastic. You have a good eye for this type of work.

Happy Easter to you and yours also!

Happy Easter to you Scott ( well I think that's who you are) can't be too sure these days.

These gardens are interesting certainly a very different format to your usual Council Garden.

Nice POV and nice rich colours. TFS

Hello Scott
Another great exposure. I like the way you have used the light to its full extent, and the comp. is very good. Very sharp too - even on my old screen!
Regards, Les

Nice one Scott, I took the same garden a few weeks back.
I was going to post it, but compared to your shot, I'll bin it.
Nowhere as good as this one.
On second thoughts, I'll post it as a workshop for you, it'll make you feel good.
Pete.

My Dream.!!!
Excellent looking photo of this beautiful Italian property.
In 3 weeks time, we go to our Son, who lives in Sicilia, also in a beautiful villa with large garden and pool.
Thanks for showing this.
Have a lovely Easter.
Jan

No ?..nah dont think its your kind of garden Scott.. but hey it looks pretty good, well photographed, nice crisp clear and colourful image.

I did get there oneday about 2 years ago... dragged along 2 men!!..that didnt really want to walk around here... like I did with my camera in hand... blow me down... the heavens opened just as we entered... and we all raced back to the car, the rain didnt give up, and the fellas were all smiles... as we drove home without the walk around the Hamilton Gardens! arrrhh well, I will get there someday!

Thanks for sharing..

Cheers
Dawn
