Limestone country

This is a scene from Waikaretu Road in the Waikato region. At the bottom of this road is the Nikau caves.
The majority of the area is limestone, and twenty kilometres away towards Port Waikato is a quarry and lime works.
This was taken around 3 o'clock, any later and the shadows start to creep up and spoils the startling colours.
Tomorrow, Monday I have part two of my eye op done, a cataract removed.
My vision will hopefully be back to long sighted again, to match my right eye.
Been a bit 'fun' lately, one eye good at 300mm and the other at infinity.
Statistically, my eyesight is average ;-) |

Stunning colouring in the rocks with the green of the grass smeared through them. The old pine trees seem to be holding on precariously especially the one at the end. They are nicely silouhetted against the blue sky.
All the best with the eye operation.
Hi, Peter. Nice landscape with good coloring in the limestone cliffs still good. A well composed sharp photo with a informative note. You are right about the time of day. To avoid harsh shadows it is best take pictures when the light is good. Good luck with your cataract operation.Cheers and TFS.

I do wish you well on your recovery. Another beautiful scene today with wonderful lighting and colors. Very nice pov and crop. TFS
An interesting capture of colour, shape, and textures - from the grassy slopes, to the limestone rocks and the sturdy pines. A nicely balanced, nicely lit shot.
