Here is another capture I took on Xmas Day 2008 at Castle Point

Castlepoint lighthouse

With its strong winds, shallows, reefs and currents, the eastern Wairarapa coast can be dangerous. Since 1849, 31 vessels have foundered there, and 31 lives have been lost. In 1913, a 23-metre-high lighthouse was built on Castlepoint reef. It is New Zealand’s third highest lighthouse, and sends three flashes every 45 seconds, visible for 30 kilometres.

Quel dégradé de bleus, c'est éclatant et dynamique, le blanc n'agresse pas l'oeil... c'est vivifiant

As I said to Martyn, I have never been here - and maybe I might get to visit this place one day. I have heard a lot ab out it and seen many photos too.
Nice bright colours, u that coast does look quite dangerous.

Hi Steven. lovely composed shot here..with nice colours..and I do like the shadows across the lighthouse of the railing.

Wonderful place to visit..I was there last year..but very windy overnight!!

Like this simple, but excellent sharp and vivid picture. Although the lighthouse is quite central in the view, the composition isn't boring. Particular the colours of the sea and sky are awesome. Great posting Steven.
