I cropped in her face TTL incredible tight for her type personality & the serious type of person she is. She studies & in her work has lots of responsibility & a pay packet to prove it. She is very wise & obviously makes good decisions.

I decided to shoot low speed for detail then push the processing later on with brightening & contrast to push her eyes forward. Flash used directly at +1 stop

Hi Cath

She certainly has a serious and intense look about her, your title fits well.

I don't know if direct flash was the best way to light this, I would always try to avoid using flash because of the flatness, the harsh highlights (her facing cheek, the inside of her ear) and the pinpoint catchlights it puts in the centre of each eye.

Natural, diffuse daylight is good; light from a lamp slightly above eye level works well too.

Nice tight cropping here though to keep focus where it should be, and good sharpness. Personally I've never been a fan of sepia, it looks gimmicky, but that's just my own opinion.
