This is Shelly Beach on the Kaipara Harbour north of Auckland, there is a nice little campsite on the water's edge - it was a Holiday weekend and there were lots of people out fishing - some of whom came back to shore well into the night

ISO200 F11 1/100sec
Focal Length 18

Hi Jack,
Oh what I'd give to be those guys with the boat, although certainly wouldn't want to be out on the sea on a day like today with all the wind. Good idea with the vertical crop and the inclusion of the pole.

I was out this way back in April when I decided to visit Lake Ototoa (a long drive just to see a lake). Was tempted to stop off at this beach on the way home but was determined to beat the busy Auckland rush-hour traffic.

The colour of the water doesn't look too inviting in this shot, but the sandy foreshore certainly does. Looks like you froze the waves quite nicely with the 1/100s shutter speed, good DoF from f/11 too. Was a bit sketchy about the cinematic style frame on each side, but the more I look at it the more it grows on me. Nice job.

TFS,
Scott.

Hi Jack,
Beautiful movement of the waves following the undulating shore!
The pole in the foreground installs a good perspective towards the truck and boat. Excellent colors! Bravo! Annie

Hi Jack

I visit this beach regularly, nice little cafe to get fish and chips and sit on the wharf and eat them.

Vertical crop shows off the area well and good detail showing the shell fish on the rocks. Water doesn't look that inviting.

Jack,

This is a nice little beach to launch a small boat or a jetski. the deep DOF , including the pole on foreground worked well.

Cheers,
Wellington

Nice composition, tones and colours in this shot. Feels like summer, almost.

Bonjour Jack.
Une bonne composition prise en contre-plongée et bien équilibrée avec un premier plant qui donne du relief à cette belle image.
Bonne journée.
Urs
