After a hearty breakfast in Akaroa, my friends decided to feed the local seaguls - these bunch seems to be more agressive than the ones we have here in Christchurch.

Great capture with lovely colors. Perhaps you were to quick on the shutter before the auto focus could fully function, it's a little unsharp. But I know how frustrating it is (the delay) since the moment passes too quickly.
Cheers

Hi Allan,

very good momont capture!!
excellent idea.

TFS!

It lacks a bit sharpness , however it is a nice action shot.
You took it just in the right moment.

Very good shot! I like it.
Greetings.

Wow - frightening! You really have captured a forboding and Hitchcock-esque sense of claustrophobic action here.
Good use of the gradient from the sky, great composition. Sharpness could be a little better, but it's really hard to focus on these birds, I've tried it!!!

Hi ALlan
I think this is a great shot, I like the bird that is poised waiting , looks angelic almost.
I also like the depth of colour for the sky contrasting with the white fluffy clouds. I like the busyness of the picture, the birds, the extended hand and the boats all in the background. The birds are a little unsharp but I realise the spped you have to react for photos like this and besides, they kind of blend in great with the clouds ;)

Hi Allan,
altough a little unsharp I love this picture worth of any Hitchcock scenery!!!
Maybe try not to crop the wing of the first gull (next time...) and evenually try to sharpen this one. Sorry no time for a workshop...
Cheers mate

Hi Alan,
Great timing and composition on a rather difficult to achieve shot.
Well done,
Peter.

Hi Allan
very good action picture.

The positioning of the birds makes a really great composition. You got the photo at just the right moment! nice color, especially in the sky and on the second bird.
