This would have been tricky Martyn.
The sunlight on those trunks is pretty bright.
I think I would have put my AF on 'spot' mode,and moved the spot across to lock onto a bright patch.
The shot would have been quite a bit darker but it would have avoided having any burnt out OE spots (not saying that thewre are of course ;)
