[Note Guidelines] Photographer's Note
On top of Godley Head Battery Compound, a fascinating visit to a piece of NZ history. Luckily NZ was never invaded, but this was a major lookout for any possible threat in the Canterbury region.

Things to see are: Searchlights, Big Guns and Defence – response to the threat of enemies approaching from the Pacific
Military structures associated with the coastal batteries including the Officers Mess, the Quartermasters Stores, Regimental HQ and sergeants Mess, not normally open to the public, as well as the batteries.

HI Steven

The workshop looks more than a little different to the photo you have posted here. ;-) Good info tho.

Good panoramic POV of the entry to Littleton Harbour from this point. TFS.
