Here is an interesting piece of Art on a fence not far from home.
I went out with the kids the other day...on our bikes, now my butt is sore LOL...bike seats are not comfortable!
My goal in mind for the outing was to capture some of our local street art here in Mairehau (a suburb of Christchurch)
I got quite a few photos of this fence, as its very long, but this was my favorite.
To me it looks like a taniwha.
-------------------------------------------------------

FROM WIKIPEDIA...

In Māori mythology, taniwha are beings that live in deep pools in rivers, dark caves, or in the sea, especially in places with dangerous currents or deceptive breakers. The word 'taniwha' is also used to refer in a complimentary way to chiefs. The famous saying of the Tainui people of the Waikato district plays on this double meaning: Waikato taniwha rau 'Waikato of a thousand chiefs'

Nice one Tracey, good lighting shows the corrugations well.
He is a very worried looking Taniwha :(
The greenery at the bottom is a nice touch, well seen.
Pete.

Nicely cropped, bright colour and nice and sharp...
At least this can be called street art and not graffiti..

Cheers
David

This loks good Tracey - a real Kiwiana painting. Yes, a taniwha, I think.
And haven't they done a good job on it too.
The colours are good - well done
Janice

Hi Tracey

And a big thank you, to YOU, for hosting the Friday themes. Effective tight framing here, with good sharpness and colour. Perhaps a bit more contrast & sharpness? Tfs!
