[Note Guidelines] Photographer's Note
This is another photo of Danni I took the other week when "trying" to do portrait photography.
What do you think?
How could this be improved?
Thanks for looking

regards
Tracey

Hi Danni, you mother is coming up with some really lovely portraits of you.
You look very natural, which is what is best, and you still show us that sparkle in your eyes.

Tracey, I'm not sure about portraits - maybe a little bit more space on the left, but otherwise I think it is fine.

Well done
Janice

Well - there are some very good points about this shot. The focus is spot on, sharpest on her eyes, very nicely delivered. There's a great catchlight in her eyes.

The light is good, it's perfect on her face - nicely diffuse, with good natural colours ... and you can tell Danni she looks beautiful here!

The bright part of her hair isn't ideal, it's overexposed to the point of looking yellow - but that could easily be cropped out to fix the shot.

It does have the slight appearance that the camera was too close - wide-angle distortion evident - but it's minor. This is an appealing and very natural portrait, I think you've done well.

Hi Tracey,
This one is a lot better, Danni looks a lot more relaxed.
Now, you asked for improvements, these are my thoughts.
The focus is a little too brutal, I've done a WS for you and softened her face with 5% smart blur, used the healing brush on the bigger freckles.
I brightened the midtones and shadows using Levels.
I warmed the whole image 10%...maybe I overdid that bit.
I dodged the whites of her eyes, and teeth just a smidgen.
Lastly I cloned out the bottom left corner, just to simplify the pic.
For some reason I can't access the Photo Info, I would like to know the focal length of your lens.
Cheers,
Pete.
