[Note Guidelines] Photographer's Note
During a weekend excursion across the South Island Alps I saw these deer on a mountain horizon near Methven. Just seconds after I took this photo they ran off down the other side and out of sight. They are timid animals and I guess the sight of my car and others which had stopped at the roadside was enough to scare them off.

Thanks for viewing.

Hello Martyn! Excellent scene. Wonderful deers. Amazing background. Good capture. Well done!

hello Martyn
how are you doing friend?
wonderful shot, mountain deer are wonderfuly captured here
good light and shadows, due to the angle of the sun you couldn't get their faces in details but the shadows has made this shot great

Very very nice - peaceful, thanks, In the mountains of Colorado, USA this image is typical. I like the slightly offset positioning. Most might tend to center the middle deer - but there is something artistic about an offset space. Thanks for sharing !

Hi Martyn,
Nice shot of these almost silhouetted deer, reminds me of a deer farm I saw in Auckland a while ago. Very nice scenery with the snow covered mountains in the distance, well seen.

TFS,
Scott.

hi martyn
great shot snowy mountain backdrop to the deer, because they are so inquisitive it makes the shot work,

Hello Martyn,

Lucky Seven!! You have captured simply an amazing moment!

The mountain deers look so astonished while you took the picture :) The landscape behind the deers is just breath-taking. The sharpness and POV are just ideal. The colors are so pure and soft along with the shades of the mountains which are well-shown and so are the shadows of the deers. Great composition!

Thanks for sharing!

Hi Martyn,

Nice spontaneous shot. You're lucky the deer actually stayed around long enough for you to capture them... The snow on the background hills really adds character!

Cris

Hi Martyn,
Wow, this is a really well captured winter moment from New Zeland, I like that all the deers are watching you. :) Fine composition, technically, some parts of the snow seemsto bright for me, but I know how diffiult it is to capture such scenes under these light condition. Apart from this minor remark, you did a fine job, TFS!
Greetings,
Kristof

hello Martyn ..
another amazing excellent shot ...as usually perfect nature shots comes from you .. great work ... regardz Harout.

Hi martyn,
This must have been a difficult exposure. Such a bright BG behind these lovely aninals could have caused dark silhoutes and a dark FG. But, you managed it perfectly and got great detail in the entire photo. I like the attentive moment you've captured, with twelve eyes watching your every move.
TFS,
Niek

hello martyn,

i say you are in a very good pov here. they look so majestic against the blue mountains!

What a beautiful sight!
the scenery is fabulous, and this scene
reminds me Altiplano in Bolivia, the llamas!
The mountains covered in snow you beautiful addition
the beautiful blue sky!
Perspective and depth are very well,
nice color and presentation are for look at.
Congratulations,

Sergio

Hi Nartyn
Good catch and just ib time it seems. We have small antelope on the prairies here and they never pose for long. Well exposed considering the bright BG.
Phil

Hi Martyn,

awesome capture! I love how all, except the one completely oblivious one, are looking attentively and directly at the camera! Excellent sharpness and details. I really like the colours, and the composition and point of view are great.
