Hi,
Another in the series taken at the DOC camp site at St Arnuad by Lake Rotoiti. This is a common House Sparrow, a species that is prevalent throughout the world. I captured him sitting on a branch above the campsite. Hope you like the image.
14 cm., 30 g., adult male chestnut brown above, streaked black on back, crown grey, rump greyish brown, underparts greyish white, black bib and bill in breeding season; female and juvenile drab buff brown with darker streaks, greyish white below.(Source:NZ Birds)
PP inc slight crop and adj levels to bring out the side of the bird's face as it was in shadow.
Hope you like the image,
Take Care,
John |

hey John,
this is a lovely image! Clever compositional orientation on the bird and the gentle pastel colours are a visual delight.
Very well done.
Best regards, Daniel

Mis amigos los Sparrows son maravillosos y muy inteligentes, buen disparo y excelente pose y pov... saludos
Hi John
Another very good shot of a bird. You have captured good detail in all the feathers. Good DOF. It is a pity you have no sparkle in the birds eyes and the small patch on the neck. TFS.
Mike
