Hi,
Another birdy shot taken whilst in New Zealand last year at a DOC campsite in the Nelson Lakes National Park on the South Island.
The blackbird is perhaps one of the most recognisable garden birds and is as common in New Zealand as it is here in the UK and throughout the temperate world. Instantly recognisable because of its bright orange beak and eye ring. The female of the species belies its name as it is brown in colour.
This chap visited the campsite to see what food was on offer, and made himself comfortable on the end of a campsite table which had a covering of frost. Whilst he was more than haapy to pose for the photo, his expression seems to be saying to me, get on with it...can't you see how cold it is!

I liked 'Fluffie,' John. Nice to capture the moment, she looks a bit 'huffie,' as if you violated her feed. :) Nice dof and framing. The centered look might have been abandoned for the 'thirds,' though, of course that's not always possible.
