[Note Guidelines] Photographer's Note
I took this photo on a Sunday. The streets were very quiet and the sunshine really helped bring out the kaleidoscope of colours I saw in the facades. Different style of architecture also appealed to me. I wouldn't usually take this kind of photo but the colours were quite striking and I thought I should take advantage of the quiet moment in the high street.

Welcome to TrekLens Martyn and thanks for sharing this colourful view of NZ's sunniest city! Good sharpness and metering, interesting point of view.

Certainly was a quiet moment!

Hello Martyn,
Welcome to TL.
You did take great advantage of the quiet moment on the street indeed.
Wonderful to take a look at a colorful scene like this without the business of lots of people walking on the street.
Colors and details are beautiful and composition, with the beautiful colorful buidings leading the eye through the image, is lovely.
Lower side seems a bit dark though.
I did rework the image a little for you in photoshop.
Hope you like it.
Thanks for sharing.
Kind regards, Harry

Well captured Martyn, that was a great day :-) nice colours and good angle, well done

Hi Martyn, I can see it all happens in Nelson on a Sunday! :-)

But its certainly looking cheerful, with the brightly coloured shop frontages, and hanging baskets.

Sometimes we think these types of photos are not of much interest or maybe difficult with composition, but they are interesting to others from other countries im sure.

Your composition here is very good, all the buildings are standing up nice and straight.

Thanks for showing us a street in sunny Nelson, it certainly looks a lovely day there.

Brighter colours than my last Martyn, I guess the city fathers in Nelson are more lenient. Well done on teh composition and the detail. I only saw a very small part of tyhe South Island when I was there in 2004 (around Blenheim) and loved it. TFS,
David

Many thanks for your comment on ‘Colours of Tasmania’

Hi Martyn,
I'm glad you stopped to take this shot. These colorful buildings on the flower-lined street make quite an attractive composition.
Thanks for sharing,
Karen
