Nice tranquil scene alright Martyn, good use of the rule of thirds. It works on this image, very nice.
Cheers,
Pete.
Nice photo Marty, it looks like a "water" paintning ;-)
Hello Martyn. Does the rule of thirds apply in this image? Maybe, maybe not. The horizon line is too centered but in this case it does not affect the overall view and effectiveness of the image. The lighthouse is a strong focal point to guide the eyes away fron the horizon and the line boat also serves well to create more balance on the lower half of the image. The colours seem ok to me and the use of light is good, though the background seem too hazy. Overall this is a well composed image. Thanks Martyn.

Hi Martyn,
Your shot is well composed and fine colours.
For its semplicity it makes me feel a great serenity.
I like it very much!!
regards, Cinzia
I love lighthouses. This one is unusual and interesting. Well done.
