I thought it was on a mountain, but no, it's sand - the colour is so different from what I expect sand to look like too Hans.

Ik kan me voorstellen dat je daar bij stil blijft staan, je moet er natuurlijk ( een fotografisch) oog voor hebben maar dat bewijs je weer met deze foto.
Prachtig, het patroon en de kleur. Een mooi detail.

Hallo Hans.
Over "doe-eens-iets-anders" gesproken ook deze mag er zijn.Zowel lijnen als kleuren spreken tot de verbeelding. Ik heb hem nog eens 180 gr gedraaid en ook dat gaf een prachtig effect.
Erg goed opgemerkt en een schitterend resultaat.

This is sand art, we do it for Dutch travellers who enjoy photography...lol... Ive walked these sands here in Abel Tasman National Park.. dont think you would find anything more beautiful than this area, especially the southern end of the track!.

Ah...my kind of image:) Not everyone would notice this natural design at their feet. As you say, such beauty is sometimes much closer than we realize, and learning to see it is worth training our attention for. I really like the golden warmth and the grainy texture in the fascinating pattern. Well captured!
